You are cordially invited to host your next purple-themed bash at Paisley Park, the iconic residential and music-production complex established by the legendary Prince. Located just outside his hometown of Minneapolis, Paisley Park now offers its facilities for a wide range of events. For those with a musical inclination, the recording studios are also available for use.
Prince initially opened Paisley Park in 1987, investing a reported $10 million in its construction. Originally conceived as a recording facility, the purple-loving singer-songwriter soon made it his home. As described by the New Yorker magazine, Paisley Park served as Prince’s self-contained dominion, allowing him to enjoy complete control over his environment and seamlessly blend his life with his work.
Following Prince’s passing in 2016, Paisley Park was opened to the public for tours, much like Elvis Presley’s Graceland in Memphis. In fact, Graceland even managed the Prince facility for a period of time.
However, Paisley Park has now set its sights on expanding its offerings. L. Londell McMillan, Prince’s former attorney, manager, and friend, explains the vision behind this decision.
“Being in the iconic Paisley Park is special,” says McMillan.
He further reveals that Prince always had a desire to make Paisley Park accessible to everyone.
“He left notes expressing his wish to transform the studio and soundstages into a full-fledged museum,” McMillan shares.
So, if you’re looking for a unique and extraordinary venue for your next event, don’t miss the opportunity to experience the magic of Paisley Park.
Paisley Park: A Midwestern Icon
The legacy of music icon Prince lives on through the remarkable Paisley Park, a facility in the Midwest that aims to rival the great ones in Los Angeles, New York, and Florida. With a vision to provide artists with a unique recording experience, Paisley Park has hosted renowned artists such as Madonna, Beck, Lizzo, Gwen Stefani, Sting, the Beastie Boys, and Kool and the Gang.
This one-of-a-kind venue not only offers a memorable recording environment but also serves as a top tourist attraction in Minnesota. Drawing up to 55,000 visitors annually, Paisley Park offers various tour options ranging from $65 to $189.
However, hosting an event at this esteemed venue comes at a price. The space rentals at Paisley Park start at $25,000 and can go up to $75,000. The expansive layout can accommodate up to 1,000 people, ensuring an unforgettable experience for guests.
While Paisley Park continues to captivate visitors and artists alike, it aspires to match the success of its counterpart, Graceland. Alicia Dean, a marketing specialist with Graceland, mentions that the Presley estate is rented out for hundreds of events each year. Graceland even boasts its own 75-seat wedding chapel. However, McMillan, a representative of Paisley Park, acknowledges that it’s too early to consider hosting weddings at the iconic venue. The utmost priority is to ensure that any future endeavors align with Prince’s exceptional legacy.
Paisley Park stands as a testament to the unwavering influence and creative spirit of Prince. As it continues to attract visitors and facilitate inspiring recordings, it solidifies its status as a true Midwestern icon.
