Bitcoin may have been created by secretive cryptocurrency export Nick Szabo, Elon Musk revealed in a Markets Insider report.
Musk said that one could look at the ideas before the launch of Bitcoin and who wrote them, and Nick Szabo is “probably” responsible for the evolution of such ideas.
Musk noted that Szabo disowned the Nakamoto identity, but the billionaire is unsure that such claim is neither here nor there. Szabo seems to be the one more responsible for Bitcoin ideas “than anyone else.”
Bitcoin was established in October 2008 by a certain Satoshi Nakamoto, which people believe to be a pseudonym for an individual or a group of founders. Researchers have found linguistic similarities between Szaba and Nakamoto’s writing.
Musk noted, however, that there is not much significance behind the identity of the creator of Bitcoin.
